A browser extension
A pause with God, right when you need it.
Interlude gently interrupts the sites that pull you in. Not a block, a Bible verse matched to the moment, and a real choice about what happens next.
Free forever. No account needed.
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.”

A pause, not a block
Interlude never locks a site away. It asks you to slow down for a moment, then leaves the choice to you.
Matched to the moment
Comparison and contentment for social media. Peace and trust for the news. Purity and patience for dating apps.
Completely private
No accounts, no cloud, no ads, and nothing tracked except what stays on your own device.
How it works
Three steps, no setup required
Add a site
Add the sites that pull you in most. Interlude recognizes common ones automatically and assigns a category, or you can set your own.
Get interrupted, gently
Next time you visit, a full-screen pause appears before the page loads, with a verse chosen for that category.
Choose what's next
Continue to the site after a short retype step, write a private one-line reflection, or redeem the time with an encouraging message instead.
Features
Everything happens right in your browser
Context-matched verses
Verses that actually fit
Every site you add gets a category. Social media surfaces verses about comparison and identity. News surfaces peace and trust. Dating apps surface purity and patience. The verse always matches what actually pulled you there.
Private journal
A private place to notice the pattern
Before you continue, jot down one honest line about what's actually going on. No one else ever sees it, not even us. Over time it becomes a quiet record of what these sites are really doing to you.
Voluntary fasts
Put a site on a fast
Choose a length, from 3 days to Lent to a custom range. While a fast is active there's no quick way past it, just an honest choice: hold the line, or end it early with a typed confirmation. Nothing is ever framed as failure, "held 5 of 7 days" is just a fact.
Redeem the time
Turn the pause into something for someone else
Instead of continuing to the site, send someone an encouraging message. Pick a template, click copy, and go bless someone who needs it. No messaging permissions, no accounts, just your clipboard.
Weekly summary
A quiet recap, just for you
See how many pauses happened this week, how often you continued versus redeemed the time, and which verses you saw, all in one judgment-free summary that never leaves your device.
Privacy
Built to stay out of your business
Interlude has no backend, no database, no analytics, and no ad network. There's nothing to sign up for and nothing to sync. Every site you add, every reflection you write, and every verse you've seen stays in your browser's own local storage, on your device, under your control. Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it instantly.

Questions
Good to know
Is this the same as a website blocker?
No. Interlude never locks a site away completely. It interrupts you with a verse and a choice, then trusts you to decide. Think of it as a pause, not a wall.
Is it really free?
Yes, completely. No premium tier, no subscription, no ads.
What translation are the verses in?
English verses use the World English Bible (WEB), Spanish uses the Versión Biblia Libre (VBL), Brazilian Portuguese uses Bíblia Livre (BLIVRE), Italian uses the Riveduta, and French uses the Louis Segond (LSG). Each language uses one translation, all public domain or openly licensed.
Which browsers does it support?
Chrome and Firefox, with more planned.
Can I pick my own sites?
Yes. Add any domain you want and assign it whatever category fits best. You can change it anytime from Settings.
How do I get started?
Add Interlude for free from the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons, then add the sites you want paused from the extension's Settings.
